Looking for an exciting career in Television marketing and sales in San Francisco?

Your TV20 has an immediate opening for an Account Executive in media sales. The successful candidate must have the ability to develop new advertising dollars from traditional and non traditional business categories while selling to existing advertising customers. The candidate must be able to grow that business using TV20’s marketing programs and sales assets. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years advertising sales experience in media related businesses.

Required Qualifications:
College degree
Must have a car, clean driving record, and valid CA driver’s license
Advanced level of Powerpoint, Excel and Word
Pre-employment drug screening
Hours are M-F 8:30am-5:30pm and some weekends depending on client

Internship Positions

Your TV20 offers an Internship Program for college students interested in gaining exposure and experience to the Broadcasting Industry. Internships are active through out the year, offered during the Spring (Jan-May), Summer (June-Aug) and Fall (Sept-Dec). Internships are offered to junior and senior students. All Internships are unpaid and students must earn college credits by enrolling in an Internship class.

NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER 2008!!!

We offer intern positions in the following areas:

STREET TEAM
Become a member of the Your TV20 Fan Van Street Team! Assist the Sales Promotion Department with day-to-day operations (in office) along with helping at promotional appearances and station events (on-site). Some of the duties include assisting Street Team Coordinator in coordinating and researching events, representing station at promotional appearances, being a liaison between the Sales Promotion Department and its clients, setting-up and decorating at events, maintaining prize closet and vehicles, distributing promotional items accordingly and as assigned, and other duties as assigned by the Sales Promotion Director and Coordinator.

- Students MUST be available during nights and weekends.
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. at a time.
- Broadcasting and/or Marketing majors preferred.
- Knowledge of Your TV20 Programming is a plus!

ENGINEERING
Assist Station Engineers and Chief Engineer in execution of daily technical activities including system maintenance, cable fabrication, material logistics, equipment installation, and various organizational projects. Intern Candidates should have an interest in the technology of television, basic familiarity with recording systems, computers, and minimal exposure to audio and video signal flow both, analog and digital. A course of study in Broadcast or Informational Technology is preferred with the understanding this is not an operational or production oriented position.

Your Green Life
Your Green Life is a half hour environmental news show airing weekly on YourTV20. It covers both local and national Green-related stories. Some of the responsibilities include researching stories, organizing data, logging tapes, operating the teleprompter and assisting with field shoots as needed. Extensive use of the internet is required as well as excellent phone skills. Interns may need to gather information over the phone. An interest in environmental news and the community is a plus.

PRODUCTION
This position will assist our Chief Photographer on remote and studio shoots, run camera and teleprompter for the Green Report, make dubs, log tapes and assist our Editors to digitize footage.

Requirements:

- Basic computer skills, work well with others, and a positive attitude is a must. Hours may vary depending on shooting schedule.

PROMOTIONS
Assist the Promotion Manager/Department with the day-to-day operations. Some of the duties include liaison between the Promotion and Marketing departments, assist producers in videotape logging and research, production assistant on promotional shoots in the field and in the studio, distribute press clippings and mail out press releases, maintain/organize prize closet inventory, and other duties as assigned by the Promotion Manager.

RESEARCH
Assist the Research Director with various sales support duties. Some of the responsibilities include assist with creation of daily overnight ratings summary, maintain research materials, produce tracking spreadsheets/macros tracking of Your TV20's ratings performance, and maintain rate and programming changes in Sales avail software.

SALES
Learn first hand how a television Sales Department functions by being involved in the various aspects of this department. Some of the duties include assist with posting schedules, check contracts, assemble media kits, maintain client database, attend sales training/meetings, and assist with sales promotion events.

INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
- Students must be enrolled at a four-year or junior college and receive school credit for internship - Students must be in junior or senior standing - Students must be able to intern a complete semester term - Students must be able to satisfy an average of 15 hours per week - Provide a letter of participation in an internship class from your college advisor/professor - Every effort will be made to arrange hours around a student's class schedule - You must indicate which intern position you are applying for in your cover letter.
